This is to certify that Ms.Priyanka a 12 years old female child studying VIII standard is suffering with bone cancer in her right thigh (Periosteal osteo sarcoma of the right femur-distal third) and she requires surgery and metal prosthesis replacement.

She is being planned for expandable titanium alloy metal prosthesis. As she is a growing child, ordinary metal prosthesis would result in limb length discrepancy between the two legs when she grows, resulting in a limp. Moreover stainless steel prosthesis would be heavy and cause difficulties in walking and moving.

A titanium expandable prosthesis allows height adjustment as the child grows and is light weighted for the child to easily move.

This surgery would not only save her life but also save her leg and help her lead a normal life in the future. Such a prosthesis costs Rs. 1, 45,000/- and the surgery cost including hospital expenditures and professional charges would be another 1 lakh totalling Rs. 2, 45,000/- The doctors have decided to offer free professional charges and have reduced Rs.50,000/- from the total cost.

Thus we require Rs.1, 95,000/- at present to proceed with this surgery and save the child.

The child’s parents hail from a near by village and are very poor to meet out this expenditure. This costly but essential prosthesis is not covered under the insurance scheme also. The package offered by Govt. Insurance scheme is Rs.60, 000/- only for both the surgery and the prosthesis material with which we cannot offer the titanium expandable prosthesis. This type of prosthesis is not available in Government hospitals or Adyar cancer institute also.

Hence, to offer the latest facility which is absolutely necessary for this young studious, poor girl, kind hearted people may generously donate to cover the cost of the prosthesis material and hospital expenditure (Rs.1, 95, 000/-) The medical professional service will be rendered free by the doctor’s team.
